The simple answer is no. The 12-17 sixers have not played solid basketball at any point this season, and with the injury to the man who was supposed to save Philadelphia, Elton Brand, there isn’t much to look up to. Philadelphia has played very inconsistent with (new interim) coach Tony Dileo, giving out conflicting minutes to a variety of players, not allowing them to find any rhythms.
The biggest hopes in Philadelphia could be riding on the shoulders of 5th year star from Arizona University, Andre Iguodala. In order for the sixers to pull out any wins during this hard time, Andre will need to put together some better performances than he has this season. This season, Andre has put up career-lows in field goal percentage, shooting 43.6% from the field, a career-low in three point percentage, shooting an abominable 23.7% from beyond the arc, and his second worst season in free throw percentage, shooting 73% from the stripe. Luckily, his numbers have been improving. Although he averaged 13.0 points per game in the months of October and November, he is averaging 17.6 points in his first 12 December games. Also, Iguodala has connected on 47.2% of his shots for the month of December, showing signs of hope for Philadelphia while Brand is out. Although it has been an extremely hard start of the season for Andre Iguodala, he has finally started to play at the level of basketball we have been accustomed to in years past.
